Serials Cataloging Training Materials

The Cooperative Online Serials (CONSER) program maintains the training materials which are freely available for downloading. They introduce serials catalogers to a common set of standards and guidelines for creating or changing serial records. This ensures the integrity of the shared CONSER database. The materials can be used for workshops sponsored by library associations as well as for asynchronous self-paced training. Between 2003 and 2013 serials training was provided by the Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program (SCCTP). The North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG), American Library Association's Serials Education Committee, and OCLC network affiliates praticipated in hosting SCCTP workshops.
